Ed Kaim has provided information and consulting services to the health care industry for over 30 years. He founded Kaim Associates, Inc. (now Kaim Informatics, LLC.) in 1976 as a resource for improving access to and utilization of published literature, unpublished data, and expert opinion on health and safety issues. Mr. Kaim previously directed other firms consulting to the industry on health issues, including Pharmaceutical Regulatory Interface (Washington, DC) and Scientific and Regulatory Services (New York).

Lee Thompson joined Kaim Informatics with 20 years of experience in designing and implementing systems for a variety of business, academic, and government applications, including systems for management of numeric as well as text data. He provided software development services as an independent contractor, as well as for International Business Systems and the RJM Corporation (both in Ridgefield, CT) and for Able Software (Darien, CT).

Harry Diakoff has been a senior advisor to Kaim Informatics for many years on the implementation of full-text information retrieval systems, specializing in drug safety and cost/benefit issues; he now focuses on search interface design, thesaurus construction, and automatic indexing. Mr. Diakoff has also consulted to Ovid Technologies on the evaluation and implementation of various advanced search technologies, especially duplicate elimination, Soundex-like algorithms, and natural language processing.

He has specialized in IT applications in various domains including the life sciences and health care. Mr. Van Geyt previously managed international sales and business development activities with public-sector as well as private enterprise customers of Fujitsu, Lotus/IBM, SAS Institute, BULL, and Language and Computing.
